Hi friends -
It's the longest day of the year, so we thought you might have a few extra minutes to spare to catch up with Emergence Collective!
We just celebrated our 7-year anniversary and this past year could be characterized as staying grounded with each other, with the work, and a "make sure our internal processes match our ideals" year. This has included:
Welcoming Dr. Ramona Perry as a fourth owner of EC
Updating our organizational operating agreement
Revising our bylaws
Having our first team photo shoot
Coming together for an in-person retreat in Leah's hometown of Durham, NC (scroll down to learn more about our team's fragrances)
We're always learning and growing. This upcoming year we'll be revisiting our decision-making process to make sure we're operationalizing our intention of distributed leadership and fluid hierarchy.
Our work with our partners is truly what we are here for. This year, we loved spending time with our partners in Georgia, California, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Washington. D.C., Michigan, Tennessee, and Missouri. We even convinced one of our partners to author a blog on our website.
We look forward to more adventures in the year to come!

We send emails like this one very rarely (pretty much once a year). More regular updates are captured on our blog, where team members share reflections from our work with community partners. Some highlights are below. You can also stay in touch on LinkedIn.
Thank you for being a part of our community and for making an impact every day. Don't hesitate to be in touch if you ever want to brainstorm with us, or just share a coffee break. We are grateful to know you!
Enjoy some sunshine,
EC team (Ebonie, Ellie, Lauren, Leah, Mary, Ramona & Remby)

P.S. Thanks for reading this far! Each year through this newsletter we offer our friends a chance to win a $50 donation to a nonprofit of your choice! Write to our email hello@emergencecollective.org with your response to the following trivia question.
At our team retreat this fall, we took a class with Bright Black on scents and fragrances. Each team member came up with a custom scent for their personality.
Can you match the fragrance to the team member?
Black tea, fern, palo santo
Pine, olive branch, vitiver
Tonka oud, vanilla, fig
Sandalwood, vitiver, olive
Apricot, vanilla, fern
Ramona
Mary
Leah
Lauren
Ebonie
We will randomly draw a winner from among the folks who get the most correct matches!
